The Quarter Horse is known for its ability to run a quarter of a mile. A Quarter Horse can outrun a Thoroughbred anyday for a Quarter mile, but any longer than that it begins to slow down. I absolutely love this breed of horse because they can look anywhere from a horse with a Roman nose or a horse with a dish profile(like the Arabian horse). Even if they have a Roman nose they are still very beautifull animals. Some people just don't have any idea what they are missing out on. They either end up selling a beautifull and talented animal for some wild obnocious (not domesticated) animal. An example, the cheetah-yet raised in captivity it still has its wild instinct to kill meat for their young ones.
im sorry but i know all kinds of quarter horses that have talent......it's not the horses falt usually its the trainer or riders fault...and maybe he just doesn't like to jump!!!so.....please don't send comments with foul language to me please.
Okay, sorry,
but....just....no. I know, usually it is the rider's fault, and I have a half QH half TB, and I love him to death, he's perfect except for the fact that he tends to get really long when he canters, but we fix that.
But woody... He honestly is just not a good horse... you know that just because he's a quarter horse doesn't mean he's good.
yes true, just because a horse is a certain breed its got to be talented....no it doesnt ur right but specifically the breed of quarter horses is really known for talent......but just some horses are just lazy.....its only his personality though i think.
I know alot of Quarter Horses that have amazing skill and some that have great potential. I highly doubt whatever the commenter above has any real experience with Quarter Horses. (:
I own three quarter horses and wouldn't want to own anything else. Their range in talent is amazing; I have one that excels in dressage, jumping, reining, speed events, pleasure classes, etc. They are an extremely versatile breed and are truly amazing horses.
